LOCATION
Conveniently located near the enchanting headland of Mikri Vigla, Isychos House welcomes you to its charming and calm location.
Mikri Vigla (meaning “lookout” in Greek), is situated around 10 km (6 miles) south of Naxos Town and 7 km (4 miles) from the airport.
Nestled at the junction between the popular beaches of Plaka, and the southern part of the coast, Mikri Vigla is a gateway to the enchanting coastline. It unveils the island's most stunning beaches, inviting you to discover a tranquil paradise off the beaten path.
Isychos House is a stone's throw away from the hamlet, where you'll find three small and well-stocked supermarkets, a friendly bakery, diverse restaurants or tavernas, and easy access to a variety of beautiful beaches for every preference.
During the summer, the Meltemi, the prevailing north wind in the Aegean Sea, brings a refreshing breeze. Mikri Vigla's beaches, being wonderfully exposed to these winds, transform into one of Greece's premier kitesurfing destinations. Embracing the thrill, it has become renowned as both a challenging and celebrated spot. Notably, three outstanding kite schools have chosen this vibrant location as their base.
Fortunately, thanks to its advantageous location, Isychos House remains protected from the north wind, making it a peaceful retreat. The house is nestled in a small natural valley, in a bowl-shaped depression behind a protective hill. You can enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon drink at the pool, gazing at the sea in a serene atmosphere.
On windless days, Orkos and Paralia beaches are stunning, and the sunsets are breathtaking. The creek of Mikri Vigla Beach has crystal-clear blue water surrounded by rocks – and therefore not exposed to winds. One of the best authentic Tavernas is directly on the beach – ideal for families with kids. The long white-sand beach reaches Glyfada in the south.

In the summertime, Agia Anna comes alive, offering inviting white sandy beaches, bars, and restaurants.
Along the family-friendly Plaka beaches, cozy bars and eateries beckon you to unwind by the turquoise, shallow waters.
For the most captivating sunsets, venture to the breezy Orkos coast.
Kastraki, a tranquil village with holiday villas and some of the best taverns on the southwest coast stretches along the bay of Glifada.
Heading south, the coastline becomes wilder towards Agiassos, providing less crowded beaches.

Getting around
To be independent and mobile on the island, renting a car or a scooter is highly recommended. Naxos is big and is characterized by its mountainous terrain.
Public transportation is limited to the main spots and villages. In summer, Mikri Vigla is well connected to the bus network. From the center of the village, there is a regular connection to Naxos town, over Plaka and Agia Anna.
Naxos’ countryside is full of treasures and hidden beauties. Take a day, or at least an afternoon, to visit the interior of the island. To be able to access and visit the more remote areas, a car or a scooter is necessary.
Local family-run and international car rentals are operating in Naxos town. They offer the standard car types, from economy to luxury.
Their capacity is limited (it’s an island). In summer, book a car in advance. Considering the bumpy and sandy roads of Naxos – don’t go too fancy.
Most car rental companies bring the rented cars directly to the airport or the harbor upon arrival.
E-bicycles, scooters, mopeds, motorbikes, quads, and more are also available.
